Requirements for rehabilitation of old metallic structures through welded reinforcements

Eng. Marcelo Liendo

Metallurgical engineer from the National Technological University of Buenos Aires, with more than 30 years of experience in metallurgy applied to the nuclear field. He completed an International Atomic Energy Agency training in Fractomechanics at the University of Tennessee, United States. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the CEND (Committee for Non-Destructive Testing applied to civil engineering and historical heritage) and a member of the International Working Group Argentina of ASME, Section III and various associations related to metallurgy and the nuclear field. He participated in the manufacture of welded components for the retubation of the reactor for the Life extension project of the Embalse Nuclear Power Plant. Currently, he is Head of the Mechanical and Civil Department of the CNAI (Atucha I Nuclear Power Plant) life extension project.
